Arkansas’ 22 community colleges, and a number of branch campuses, will hold events this week to highlight the role college plays, whether it be education, technical training or workforce development, in the region.
Across the state, community leaders will take part in public events on campuses as part of Community College Work$ Week, which was proclaimed this week by Gov. Mike Beebe.
“Providing the best local education and training possible to the citizens of Arkansas is vital to the process of enhancing the economic security of our state and its communities,” Beebe said in a statement. “Arkansas’ community colleges have long been leaders in providing our citizens with education and training to meet local workforce needs.”
