Banking & Finance

Brian Gildea

Brian Gildea has joined Crews & Associates of Little Rock as a public finance banker in the Indianapolis office. Gildea brings more than 20 years of experience in economic development and finance and earned a degree in public administration from Indiana University Bloomington.

Carla Miller has been named senior vice president and director of special assets at Citizens Bank of Batesville. Miller has more than 20 years of legal expertise and previously practiced law at James House Swann & Downing PA in Little Rock.

Eric Bunnell

Eric Bunnell, president of Arvest Bank of Fayetteville’s equipment finance division in Fort Smith, has been elected to a three-year term on the board of directors of the bank’s equipment leasing and finance association. Bunnell has been with Arvest since 2012 and has nearly 25 years of commercial lending experience.

Education

Chris Tisdel

Chris Tisdel has been named director of the McMillon Innovation Studio at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Tisdel founded Ruckus Innovation Consulting in 2009 and earned a master’s degree in architecture from Texas Tech University in Lubbock.

David White has been named director of the Survey Research Center at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. White is a first-generation college student from northeast Arkansas who began his career as a high school principal before transitioning to academic research.

Dr. Michael Birrer

Dr. Michael Birrer has been inducted as a member of the American Academy of Sciences & Letters of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Birrer is director of the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock and is a medical oncologist and internationally recognized expert in ovarian cancer.

Jennifer Boyett

Jennifer Boyett has been promoted to senior director of advancement communications and campaign manager at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. Boyett joined UCA in 2023 as director of campaign communications and directed communications for the conclusion of the UCA Now campaign, which secured more than $109 million.

Stuart Flynn has been named interim executive director at the Arkansas School for Mathematics Sciences & the Arts in Hot Springs. Flynn is currently dean of academic affairs at ASMSA and will begin the interim role Jan. 1, following the departure of Corey Alderdice.

Dr. Trey Neyland has joined Arkansas State University in Jonesboro’s College of Veterinary Medicine as assistant professor of livestock practice. Neyland earned a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and is board-certified as a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine of Inverness, Colorado.

Dr. Gresham Richter has been named chair of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at UAMS. Richter currently serves as vice chair of the department and has served as chief of pediatric otolaryngology at UAMS and Arkansas Children’s Hospital of Little Rock since 2016. Dr. Shitiz Sriwastava has joined UAMS as an associate professor of neurology. He is a board-certified neurologist and neuroimmunologist with expertise in multiple sclerosis research and treatment and comes to UAMS from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.

Nonprofits

Adelia Kittrell

Adelia Kittrell has been hired as program director for the community investment team at the Arkansas Community Foundation of Little Rock. Kittrell has more than 15 years of experience in philanthropy, project management and operations.

Morgan Weithman has been promoted to executive director of the Quapaw Quarter Association of Little Rock. Weithman has served as membership and activities coordinator for the past three years.

Public Relations

Ashley Godwin

Ashley Godwin has joined The Peacock Group of Little Rock as a public relations specialist. Godwin has nearly 10 years of expertise in media relations and was an Emmy-winning broadcast journalist at THV11 of Little Rock, covering Arkansas politics, crime and education.
