Arkansas Firms Rank on Ad Age List

2 min read

Advertising Age magazine included four Arkansas companies among the top 500 ad agencies in the U.S. on its 68th annual agency report, published April 30.

On the list, the agencies were ranked by 2011 U.S. revenue.

Acxiom Corp. of Little Rock, Saatchi & Saatchi X of Springdale, Rockfish of Rogers and Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods of Little Rock made the list, which is dominated by New York firms.

Data company Acxiom, with $656 million in U.S. revenue, was No. 2 on the overall, across-disciplines list.

Ad Age ranked communications firm Saatchi & Saatchi X and its estimated $33.696 million in revenue at No. 212; ad and technology firm Rockfish, with an estimated $21.760 million in revenue, at No. 296; and advertising, marketing and communications agency CRJW, with approximate revenue of $11.427 million, at No. 464. Ad Age was unable to report exact revenue for the three companies.

Denver Peacock, spokesman for CJRW, declined to say whether the Ad Age estimate of CJRW’s revenue was accurate.

“Like most communications firms, we never discuss our annual revenues,” Peacock said. “However, despite the challenging economy, we have managed to grow our business through current clients and new accounts, and we’re proud to be among the top 500 agencies in America.”

The publicly traded Acxiom had total revenue of $843.4 million in the first three quarters of its fiscal year, which ended March 31, and will announce its fourth-quarter results on Tuesday.

Acxiom also ranked highly on several of Ad Age’s shorter lists. Ad Age rated Acxiom as No. 3 worldwide and No. 2 in the U.S. out of all customer-relationship management and direct-marketing networks. Acxiom also popped up on the World’s 50 Largest Agency Companies list at No. 11 and on the World’s Largest Consolidated Agency Networks list at No. 17.
