Arkansas ranks 48th among the 50 states and the District of Columbia in terms of how easy it is to work from home, now that the coronavirus pandemic has forced many workers into that arrangement. That’s according to WalletHub, a consumer finance information website.
Delaware ranked No. 1 in ease of working remotely, Washington state ranked No. 2 and New Hampshire ranked No. 3. Arkansas, at No. 48, was followed by Mississippi at No. 49; Hawaii, No. 50; and Alaska, No. 51.
WalletHub compared the states and Washington, D.C., using 12 metrics, ranging from the share of workers working from home before COVID-19 to internet cost and cybersecurity to how large and how crowded homes are in the state. On one of those factors, internet access (see chart below), Arkansas ranked No. 50.

“Prior to this pandemic, just 25 percent of all workers in the U.S. had worked from home, and only 29 percent were able to do so,” WalletHub said.
