Arkansas State University System President Charles L. Welch said Thursday that the system is starting its search for a chancellor to succeed retiring ASU-Beebe Chancellor Eugene McKay.
McKay announced in May that he would retire in January after almost 50 years at ASU-Beebe, including the past 21 years as chancellor.
Arkansas State has posted information about the post to the ASU-Beebe website. Review of applications will begin Oct. 15 and continue until the position is filled, Welch said.
Welch also announced the appointment of the search committee, which he will chair. The members are:
- Tyler Seale, student
- Kristie Coley, associate professor of Veterinary Technology
- Ken Barton, advanced instructor of computer systems
- Teddy Davis, Education and Social Science Division chair
- Richard Counts, associate professor of chemistry
- Robin Hayes, director of Admissions
- Carissa Gillam, registrar assistant
- Chris Lee, chief information technology officer
- Linda Yelder, associate director of Financial Aid
- Barry Farris, vice chancellor for ASU-Searcy
- Diandra Verser, Learning Center coordinator at ASU-Heber Springs
- Two community representatives, Dewitt Yingling and Ali Sugg
ASU-Beebe is a two-year college with average enrollment of more than 4,500 students. It has additional campuses in Heber Springs, Searcy and the Little Rock Air Force Base.
