Tuition and fees will increase for Arkansas Tech students in the 2014-15 academic year following the approval of the university’s board of trustees Thursday.
Undergraduate tuition will increase from $199 per student semester credit hour to $209. Also, the health and wellness fee will increase from $2 per student semester credit hour to $3.
Tuition and fees for undergraduate students enrolled in 30 hours will increase to $7,248 for the 2014-15 year, compared to $6,918 this year.
For graduate students, per student semester credit hour rates will increase from $249 to $261.
At the Ozark campus, tuition rates will increase from $94 per student semester credit hour to $103. The technology fee is up to $13, from $11, per credit hour and the infrastructure fee is up to $10, from $5, per credit hour.
Even with the increases, the university says its rates for the 2014-15 year are less than this year’s rates at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, the University of Central Arkansas and Arkansas State University at Jonesboro.
Also approved for the 2014-15 year was a 1.5 percent cost-of-living pay increase for faculty and staff.
Overall, the board approved a $135.3 million operating budget for the 2014-15 year.
On Friday, Arkansas State University approved a tuition and fee increase as well. The University of Arkansas is set to discuss an increase in tuition and fees for its system universities this week.
