The Arkansas Waterfowler Hall of Fame has rescheduled this year’s induction ceremony due to the statewide surge in COVID-19 cases.
The ceremony, originally set for Feb. 10, is now planned for May 19 at Chenal Country Club in Little Rock.
“This is a very significant, special honor for our inductees and we want to make sure their legacies receive the proper celebration and recognition they deserve,” committee Chairman Jim Ronquest said in a news release. “In light of recent COVID-19 numbers, moving the event will allow us to ensure all attendees remain safe and healthy.”
The event will still recognize honorees from the classes of 2020 and 2021.
The honorees include:
- Witt Stephens Jr., co-founder and CEO of the Little Rock investment company The Stephens Group, President Emeritus of the Arkansas Game & Fish Foundation and lifetime member of Ducks Unlimited and the Delta Waterfowl Foundation
- Harold Glenn, Thad McCollum and Verne Tindall, the three men who three created what is now known as the World Duck Calling Championship in Stuttgart
- Carl Hunter, a longtime leader in wildlife biology and conservation in Arkansas
The hall of fame, created by Arkansas Business Publishing Group and Greenhead magazine, recognizes champions of conservation, hunters, duck call makers, dog trainers and landowners who contributed significantly to the industry.
It’s housed at the Museum of the Arkansas Grand Prairie in Stuttgart.
