- UCA women’s basketball coach Matt Daniel is leaving the Sugar Bears to take over the helm at Marshall. The Jonesboro native led UCA to a Southland championship and WNIT appearance during his four years with the school.
- And UALR outfielder Sean Bignall was named as a semifnalist for the 2012 USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award (GSA), given annually to the nation’s top player. He’s a candidate for the award after a record-setting season with the Trojans, including school records for home runs (18) and total bases (149).
