Former Arkansas Coach Bobby Petrino will not appeal his termination with cause from the University of Arkansas. His attorney confirmed that Petrino will not seek his $18 million buyout.
Through texts released by the University of Arkansas through the Freedom of Information Act, Petrino was still interested in keeping his job though in some ways, it seemed he could see the writing on the wall.
Meanwhile, Arkansas says Jessica Dorrell, the 25-year-old football department employee whose affair with former football coach Bobby Petrino led to his firing, has been placed on paid leave by the university.
Deadspin.com revealed that Dorrell wasn’t the only woman getting texts from Petrino. Alison Melder, a staffer for the Republican party and a former Miss Motorcycle Mania, also had a text-friendly relationship with the head coach.
And the Detroit Tigers have high hopes for former Little Rock Central and Arkansas Razorbacks ace Drew Smyly and the left-hander didn’t disappoint in his major league debut Thursday.
