- Arkansas (39-19) has a chance to show how good it can be when NCAA Tournament play begins Friday, opening as the No. 2 seed in the Houston Regional. Joining the Razorbacks will be No. 1 seed Rice (40-17), No. 3 Sam Houston State (38-20) and No. 4 Prairie View (28-23). Sam Houston State and Arkansas will open the regional with a game at 1 p.m.
- Arkansas third baseman Matt Reynolds was named to the all-SEC first team and was one of three Razorbacks to earn some sort of postseason recognition from conference coaches. Second baseman Bo Bigham was named to the second team. First baseman Dominic Ficociello and Reynolds were on the all-defensive team.
- Even with powerful pitching from Jacob Lee, Arkansas State lost in the Sun Belt championship game against ULM 4-2. It was the Red Wolves’ first appearance in the conference final since 1996.
- And Arkansas has re-opened the position of on-campus recruiting coordinator for football. Qualifications include sticking to deadlines, a knowledge of Microsoft Word and not having accepted $20,000 from anyone associated with the program.
