1 min read

Today on ArkansasSports360.com:

Fighting back tears, Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long announced Tuesday his dismissal of head football coach Bobby Petrino for actions that jeopardized the football program and university.

Petrino issued a statement through his agent, claiming responsibility for his actions and boiling his feelings down to two words: I’m sorry.

ArkansasSports360.com’s Jim Harris and Clint Stoerner, who played under former coach Houston Nutt, appeared on Channel 7 to discusst last night’s emotional news conference, how the coaching change could affect recruiting, possibilities for a new coach, and where the story goes from here.

Reaction from past, present and future Razorback players have been optimistically subdued. Most have reiterated their love for the football program.

One former Razorback, Ryan Mallett of New England, says his former offensive coordinator Garrick McGee should be considered as a replacement. Other names thrown out there include Butch Davis, Skip Holtz and Dave Wannstedt.
