ArkansasSports360.com: War Memorial Stadium Officials Leaning Toward More Expansion

1 min read

Today on ArkansasSports360.com:

War Memorial Stadium doesn’t want to leave anything to chance. That’s why the stadium commission is again exploring expansion options in hopes of remaining an attractive venue for Arkansas football games.

That’s the takeaway from a recent Associated Press article in which the news service visits with War Memorial Stadium manager Charlie Staggs. Currently, the commission is discussing ways to keep two Arkansas football games per year in the 63-year-old stadium.

David Gunn, a veteran Red Wolves’ assistant, is moving to the defensive side of the ball on Gus Malzahn’s first staff. Gunn, who will now oversee defensive backs, has been coaching running backs and as ArkansasSports360.com reported on Jan. 25 he will also be listed as assistant head coach.

Former Razorback and Little Rock Central product Drew Smyly is being touted by Detroit general manager Dave Dombrowski as the Tigers search for a fifth starting pitcher.

And if you’re smuggling alligators in south Arkansas, you might want to use something a bit more secure than an empty diaper box. Our friends at the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission rarely have a dull moment, it seems.
