- Arkansas picked up its first commitment for the Class of 2013 on Wednesday when Denham Springs (La.) running back Kaleb Blanchard committed to the Razorbacks. Blanchard (6-foot-1, 200 pounds), chose the Razorbacks despite not knowing for sure who will be his head coach when he gets to Fayetteville.
- With the Arkansas head coaching problem solved for the 2012 season by the hiring of John L. Smith, a decision senior quarterback Tyler Wilson wholeheartedly endorsed, and with a brilliant spring performance now completed with his 467 yards passing in Saturday’s spring game, Wilson can focus on another passion: golf.
- Coaching in his final event after 18 seasons leading the UALR golf program, Wyn Norwood was voted the 2012 Sun Belt Conference Men’s Golf Coach of the Year by his peers on Wednesday. Norwood wasn’t the only Trojan honored by the league’s coaches on the final day of the 2012 SBC Golf Championships, as Alfred Kerstis was named the Sun Belt Freshman of the Year.
