ASU-Mountain Home Honors Three (Movers & Shakers)

Jim Seaman, Matt Buel and Sheryl Lynn Bryant were recently honored by Arkansas State University-Mountain Home.

Seaman, the two-year college’s IT manager, was named staff member of the year. Buel, director of the college’s funeral science program, was named faculty member of the year. Bryant, a nurse practitioner at North Arkansas Family Clinic in Salem (Fulton County), was honored as the outstanding alumna of the year.


David Rankin and Beth Cameron Weldon are among seven new members of the board of directors of the Southern Arkansas University Foundation Inc. in Magnolia.

The other new members are Charlotte A. Baine, Roger Bell, Michael Ray Dumas, Terry “Bo” Ray and Betty J. Stringfellow.

Rankin is SAU’s president emeritus, and Weldon is vice president of marketing for First Financial Bank in El Dorado. Baine is a retired middle school counselor in Crossett. Bell is a financial adviser with LPL Financial in Shreveport. Dumas is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Intermarine of Houston. Ray, of Magnolia, is an educational consultant with ERJ Associates in Memphis. Stringfellow, of Little Rock, is the widow of William R. Stringfellow, former SAU board chairman who died in 2014.
