AT&T announced Monday that Ronald (Ronnie) Dedman has been named president of AT&T Arkansas.
He will lead all of the company’s external, government and public affairs efforts in the state.
Dedman succeeds Ed Drilling, who served as president of AT&T Arkansas for 17 years. Drilling has been promoted to senior vice president of AT&T National Regulatory External Affairs. He manages state regulation for the company nationwide.
A native of Tuckerman, Arkansas, Dedman has worked for AT&T in Arkansas for 40 years.
His AT&T career began with a summer internship at then-Southwestern Bell. Dedman worked as a directory assistance operator while attending college at Arkansas State University, and he worked in operator services and marketing before joining the external affairs team as a director in 1995.
Dedman has served as chairman of the board of directors for the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce, and he was the first African American to hold that position.
He was also appointed by then-Gov. Mike Huckabee and reappointed by then-Gov. Mike Beebe to the Pulaski Technical College Board of Trustees.
Dedman has also served on the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee, Arkansas State University Foundation board, Little Rock Boys & Girls Clubs board, American Lung Association of Arkansas board, Big Brothers Big Sisters board, Little Rock Work Force Investment board and the Downtown Little Rock Partnership board.
