ATU Names Gina Lockwood Director of Government Relations

Arkansas Tech University in Russellville has hired Gina Lockwood as director of government relations. 

She joins ATU after serving as chief operating officer for the Arkansas Department of Education since 2017. Lockwood also has 15 years of experience as a K-12 guidance counselor and teacher, and three years of experience in the private sector with Acxiom, the university said in a news release.

Lockwood holds a bachelor’s in education from Henderson State University and a master’s in education in school counseling and leadership from Arkansas Tech.

“I am pleased to welcome Ms. Lockwood to the ATU community,” Robin Bowen, president of ATU, said in the release. “Her efforts to enhance our existing relationships and build new partnerships at the local, state and national levels of government will support our mission of student access and success.”
