1 min read

Vehicle warranty seller DriveSmart Auto Care Inc. of Toms River, New Jersey, announced Sunday that it will locate a new call center in Newport.

The company is investing up to $5 million to transform a 13,000-SF space in the city, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission said in a news release. About 200 jobs are expected to be created over the next three years.

“These roles will span a range of departments including sales, customer service, information technology, administration, software development, marketing, and more,” said Daniel Rodd, president of DriveSmart. “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the state and local officials of Arkansas for their unwavering support throughout our location decision-making process.”

Founded in 2016, DriveSmart provides multiple vehicle service contracts with benefits including towing assistance, car rental assistance, roadside assistance and trip interruption.

The Newport project received the following state incentives: Advantage Arkansas, which provides state income tax credit for job creation based on the number of new employees hired as a result of the project, and Tax Back, which provides sales tax refunds on building materials, taxable machinery, and equipment associated with the project.
