Auxiliary members donate a historic gift of $1.2 million to Arkansas Children’s Hosptial.
Arkansas Children’s Hospital Auxiliary donated $1.2 million for the hospital’s programs and services last year, the largest gift the organization has given in its 50-year history.
The money was raised through annual initiatives, including the holiday card project, Miracle Ball, Arkansas a la Carte, Star ACHievers and Playaway Gift Shop.
The money will support the Arkansas Children’s Research Institute, David M. Clark Center for Safe and Healthy Children, Palliative Care Program, Center for Good Mourning Program and Comfort Foods Program. It will also support updating the outdoor spaces on the hospital’s campus and landscaping for the campus.
The David M. Clark Center for Safe and Healthy Children provides a safe place for children of abuse and neglect. Through the Comfort Foods Program, the auxiliary provides a warm meal to patient families in a private dining area of the cafeteria. The Center for Good Mourning Program supports grieving families, while the Pallative Care Program provides comfort to patients and families.
