Bailey Named Assistant Commissioner at Education Department (Movers & Shakers)

Suzanne Bailey

Suzanne Bailey has been appointed as the new assistant commissioner for educator effectiveness and licensure at the Arkansas Department of Education in Little Rock.

Bailey previously served as the academic dean of career and technical education at Arkansas State University in Beebe. She also serves on the Arkansas Advanced Initiative for Math & Science board.

Assiah Lewellen recently earned a certificate in cultural and linguistic competence from the Georgetown University Leadership Academy.

Lewellen is the grants and outreach coordinator for the Arkansas Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities in Little Rock.
