Troy Duke
The Bank of Rison is the second-smallest bank in the state, but its owners — CEO Troy Duke and Hot Springs businessman LR Gardner — have aspirations.
That’s probably why they have asked the Arkansas State Bank Department for permission to change its name to Gateway Bank.
It could take several weeks before the name change becomes official.
The bank, which was chartered in 1932, had total assets on Dec. 31 of $32.1 million, deposits of $27.7 million and annual net income of $392,000.
When Gardner and Duke bought the bank at the end of 2013, it was the state’s smallest with $23.9 million in assets.
