Be Pro Be Proud: Mid-Year Report 2024

1 min read

Be Pro Be Proud, the workforce initiative of the Associated Industries of Arkansas, launched its first mobile workshop in 2016 with the purpose of changing student, teacher, parent and legislator perceptions of skilled technical programs and careers. Be Pro Be Proud aims to connect students with in-demand, high-wage jobs right out of high school.

The message that a successful career does not require a traditional four-year baccalaureate degree has resonated not only here in Arkansas but around the country. The Be Pro Be Proud effort has expanded to two mobile workshops in Arkansas and now includes tours in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and New Mexico.

The Be Pro Be Proud Mobile Workshop tours schools around the state and through virtual reality simulators allows students to step into technical careers that otherwise may be unfamiliar to them. The popularity of the Be Pro Be Proud Mobile Workshop in both school and workforce development circles has led to a growing tour stop waitlist that represents significant opportunities in trade professions.
