North Little Rock accounting firm Bell & Company P.A. said this week that it has bought Donna Stephens Ltd., an accounting firm based in Conway.
“We are very excited about this transaction,” Bell & Company CEO Richard Bell said. “It will allow us to continue to grow our business in the rapidly expanding Conway and surrounding communities.”
The firm has changed its name to Stephens Bell & Company. It will continue to operate in its ] office at 2490 Washington Ave. in Conway.
The companies arranged the acquisition after founder Donna Stephens died in January.
“After the unfortunate passing of the company’s founder, Donna Stephens, we have had the opportunity to assist in helping the firm continue to provide quality service as Donna had provided for 40 years to her clients,” Bell said.
Five staff members have continued with the newly named firm. Bell said the company has hired an additional employee with plans more hires for the future.
Bell & Company is a regional accounting firm that specializes in trucking/transportation and small business. It was founded in 1982 and has more than 1,500 clients in 10 states.
