Movista is a software as a service company that began with a handful of employees in a tiny house.

Nowadays the headquarters — 15,000 SF in the renovated Icehouse building downtown — are a bit more roomy and the company roster is longer, but the Movista team is still a tightly knit group, active in the community and invested in its clients.

The employees’ passion, personality and positive attitude have been a magical recipe for Movista’s success and the company doesn’t take that for granted.

Movista pays $100 a month into employees’ Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and has an employee assistance program to provide qualified counselors to help employees cope with personal problems. The company encourages physical health through its Biggest Loser Challenge.

Movista’s 401(k) provides 50 percent match of employee contributions up to 6 percent and will contribute an additional 3 percent as long as the employee maintains a 6-percent minimum.

In addition to company-organized community service events, Movista offers individuals paid time off to volunteer for charity work, up to five hours a month.

Popular fun and games and events include “Beer-Thirty” during nice weather, ping-pong and shuffleboard breaks and pop-up parties with various themes that include Star Wars and Fat Tuesday.
