1 min read

Bethany Christian Services, a nonprofit located in 36 states and working in more than 15 countries, announced Thursday the hire of Veronica Smith as director of its Arkansas branch.

The branch offers domestic infant adoption and international adoption, pregnancy and post-adoption support, and soon to launch Safe Families for Children.

“Veronica has a true passion for our ministry that stood out from the moment we met her,” Cheri Williams, southeast regional director for Bethany Christian Services, said in a news release. “She has a clear vision for the future of Bethany in Arkansas, and we are confident she will help take us to the next level across the state.”

Smith has more than 20 years of leadership and programmatic experience in higher education and healthcare.

She earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Central Arkansas. During the past 18 years, she has served as the director of research and operations for the Arkansas Center of Birth Defects Research and Prevention within the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ Department of Pediatrics at the Arkansas Children’s Research Institute.

“I’m excited to be a part of the Bethany team and look forward to the future as we turn potential tragedies into unparalleled triumphs,” Smith said. “Combining time-tested services with innovative ideas should result in advances that will keep us current, focused, and on point.”
