Biff’s Coffee Down to the Last Drop After Ronnoco Sale

1 min read

A Little Rock Craigslist ad offering “the last coffee ever roasted by Biff Grimes himself” caught our attention.

Somehow your Whispers staff, which includes a lot of coffee drinkers, missed the news that Grimes had sold Biff’s Coffee Roasting Co., long of Jacksonville and recently of Sherwood, late last year to Ronnoco Coffee Co. of St. Louis.

Ronnoco, which has made several regional acquisitions of late, took over the roasting and flavoring that Grimes and one employee used to do, but the Biff’s brand lives on for commercial customers and on Walmart shelves.

“I gave away my secrets, you know, to them,” Grimes told Whispers.

Most of Grimes’ employees, about a half-dozen, have gone to work for Ronnoco locally, and Grimes himself has a two-year contract to help retain old customers and drum up new ones.
