Big Whiskey’s to Close Location in Downtown Little Rock

1 min read

Big Whiskey’s American Bar & Grill announced that it’s closing its location in downtown Little Rock after 16 years in business.

The restaurant at the corner of East Markham Street and President Clinton Avenue in the River Market will close its doors at the end of the month, the restaurant said in a Facebook post.

“We’ve seen a lot from the River Market’s front porch and we’ve served more than a few meals and drinks during our time,” the post said. “But, now we’re excited about what’s next for us and also for our space and our ever developing Downtown. We believe the adage that Downtowns are the Heartbeat of our cities so we will continue to support this one. You should too.”

The Missouri-based chain also has locations in Bentonville, Fayetteville and Siloam Springs. Other locations are in Alabama, Missouri and Oklahoma.

In 2016, the Little Rock location’s owners sued over the opening of the Bentonville location, saying they had the franchise rights to Big Whiskey’s in Arkansas and right of first refusal for any Big Whiskey’s in the state.
