

Jessica Alphin and Shana Akers were honored as outstanding faculty members at Black River Technical College in Pocahontas during the recent Arkansas Community College Outstanding Faculty & Awards Banquet.
Alphin is the director of clinical education at BRTC, and Akers is director of the student information system and research.

Stephanie Nichols, an attorney in Pocahontas, was honored as an outstanding alumna of BRTC. She earned a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Arkansas and a law degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law.
Martin Eggensperger is serving the Arkansas Science Olympiad board of directors as associate state director and as the higher education director.
Eggensperger is the president of Black River Technical College in Pocahontas. He has served on the board since 2011 and was an applied science and physics judge at the state competition for several years.

David Martin has been hired as trust officer of Arvest Bank in Jonesboro.
Martin has 30 years of experience in the retirement/estate planning industry. He is a certified public accountant, a certified financial planner and a chartered financial consultant.
Tyler Fraley has been hired as assistant wrestling coach at Williams Baptist University in Walnut Ridge. In 2018 Williams won the NAIA National Championship at 141 pounds and became the second student-athlete in Williams Baptist’s history to claim a national title. He most recently served as the assistant coach at Matawan High School in New Jersey.
