Bobby Brown Elected Chair of Little Rock Port Board

Interstate Signways of Little Rock CEO Bobby Brown has been elected chair of the Little Rock Port Authority Board of Directors.

Brown has served on the board since 2016 in roles including treasurer and vice chair. His term as chair will run from July 2022 through June 2023.

“I am honored to serve as Chair of the Little Rock Port Authority Board of Directors,” Brown said in a news release. “My family has a rich history at the Port and 50 years ago this month, I helped my father open AFCO Metals at the Port of Little Rock.

“This community is blessed to have a place like the Port of Little Rock and the economic impact we have on central Arkansas is second to none. I hope to help the Port continue to grow and meet our objective of creating high-paying jobs for the community.”

Brown is a member of Fifty for the Future and Little Rock Rotary Club 99. He previously served as director for J.M. Tull Metals Associated Industries of Arkansas, as a member of the UA Little Rock Foundation, and as an Arkansas Arts Center trustee.

Before leading Interstate Signways, he held positions as the president and chief operating officer of AFCO, CEO of Audio International, and co-founder and CEO of Syair Designs.

Brown completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Arkansas in 1975 and earned a master’s in business administration from the University of Texas in 1980.

The Little Rock Port Authority Board of Directors elected Clay McGeorge as vice chair and Stan Hastings as treasurer.
