Braun Named New Dean at UA Little Rock (Movers & Shakers)

Frank Braun has been appointed the new dean of the College of Business, Health & Human Services at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. In this role, he will lead UA Little Rock’s largest college, which contains eight departments and schools as well as the Arkansas Economic Development Institute and MidSOUTH.

Braun has more than 20 years of experience in executive-level information systems management, consulting and business development. He previously served as dean of the school of business and professor of business informatics at Baldwin Wallace University of Berea, Ohio. Before that, he was department chair and associate professor at Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, Kentucky. Braun also held leadership positions at TouchScreen Systems of Cincinnati, Dr. Biz Analytics Ltd. of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, and other companies.

Braun earned a bachelor’s degree in applied science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He also received an MBA from Xavier University of Cincinnati and a doctoral degree in management from Case Western Reserve University of Cleveland.

Tusty ten Bensel has been named director of the School of Criminal Justice and Criminology at UA Little Rock, where she currently serves as associate professor of criminal justice. She also serves as director of the Justice Research & Policy Center.

Michael Birrer has been invested in the Kent C. Westbrook, M.D. Director’s Chair for the Rockefeller Cancer Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, where he is vice chancellor and founding director. He and his colleagues founded the Arkansas Cancer Research Center in 1984 and he served as its founding director for 14 years.
