Breeze Airways is adding direct flights from Northwest Arkansas National Airport to Tampa, New Orleans and San Antonio.
Breeze Airways will add direct flights from Northwest Arkansas National Airport this summer, the airline announced.
Flights to Tampa will begin in June, while flights to New Orleans and San Antonio will start in July. The flights are scheduled for Thursdays, Friday, Sunday and Mondays of each week.
“We’ve monitored the development of Breeze over many months, and we’ve worked with others in our community to share the northwest Arkansas success story to the Breeze team,” XNA CEO Aaron Burkes said. “At the end of the day, an airline’s decision to come is a statement of confidence about what that community is and what it’s going to be. It’s a compliment to this incredible region that they’ve decided to do business here.”
Breeze is based in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, and was founded by David Neeleman, who started JetBlue and several other airlines. It is scheduled to begin service this week.
A sample reservation for a one-way flight to New Orleans for July 16 was priced at $42. The airline said nonstop flights start at $39 for select destinations, and northwest Arkansas travelers will not be charged for changes or cancellations.
“Another low-cost carrier at XNA is great news for northwest Arkansas,” Northwest Arkansas Council CEO Nelson Peacock said. “The region continues to grow rapidly, and Breeze’s presence provides more travel options for business and leisure travelers and will eventually lower costs for flights out of XNA.”
