Brian Berry Selected for UA Little Rock Commission (Movers & Shakers)

Brian Berry will help lead reaccreditation efforts at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock as the new faculty co-chair of the Higher Learning Commission.

Berry, chair of the Department of Chemistry, will work closely with Erin Finzer, interim associate vice chancellor for academic affairs for continuous improvement, to help the university maintain Higher Learning Commission standards, coordinate assessment and prepare for the Higher Learning Commission site visit in 2020.


Kathleen Lawson, formerly director of the Arkansas Discovery Network at the Museum of Discovery in Little Rock, has been named executive director of Economics Arkansas of Little Rock, a nonprofit that trains teachers to teach economics principles.


Charlotte L. Williams, an associate professor of public health and director of the Center on Community Philanthropy at the University of Arkansas’ Clinton School of Public Service in Little Rock, was a speaker at the Rethinking Community Conference for journalists, politicians, scholars and public intellectuals held last month at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
