1 min read

Edison Electric Institute’s board of directors has promoted Brian L. Wolff from senior vice president to executive vice president of public policy and external affairs.

Wolff, native of Hot Springs, directs the institute’s government relations, political and external affairs, and communications activities. He will continue as part of EEI’s senior leadership team, along with President Tom Kuhn and Executive Vice President of Business Operations and Regulatory Affairs David Owens.

“Brian plays a critical role in strengthening the issue management process and advocacy efforts of EEI to meet the growing opportunities and challenges facing the electric power industry,” Kuhn said in a news release. “His strategic thinking, creative approach, and political acumen help to shape many of EEI’s advocacy successes and issue campaigns.”

EEI represents U.S. investor-owned electric companies. Its members provide electricity for 220 million Americans, operate in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, and directly employ more than 500,000 people.

Wolff was named one of CEO Update’s Top Lobbyists of 2013 and Association TRENDS 2013 Lobbyist of the Year. He is a member of the American Society of Association Executives and the Public Affairs Institute Board of Directors.
