Brooke Magallanes Named Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment at UA Fort Smith (Movers & Shakers)

Brooke Magallanes has been named associate vice chancellor for enrollment management at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith. She previously was the interim director of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Donovan Colclough, supervisor of safety at Entergy Arkansas, has been named to the board of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Alumni Association. Joining him on the board are Cameron Fuller, a commercial banker at Simmons Bank; Grady McCorkle, director of workforce planning at Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield; Bethany Siems, director of strategy at Ghidotti; and Alfreda Summons, a data analyst lead at Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield.


Ashita Muhammad, director of the McNair Scholars Program at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, received the Thomas E. Patterson Education Award during the King Kennedy Awards ceremony, sponsored by the Arkansas Democratic Black Caucus. The award is presented to an individual who advocates for equality of educational opportunity for students and education employees of color and those who are poor. 


Dr. Jody Douglas Berry has been appointed chief scientific officer at NOWDiagnostics of Springdale. He previously was CSO and senior vice president of product development and innovation at Aspria Women’s Health. He has more than two decades of experience.


Jamion Nash (Excellerate Foundation)

Jamion T. Nash has been appointed vice president of Excellerate Housing at Excellerate Foundation of Rogers. Excellerate Housing seeks to speed the creation of affordable housing in northwest Arkansas. Nash has more than a decade of experience in residential acquisitions and development.


Ruthanne Hill (Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund)

Ruthanne Hill has announced her retirement from the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Springdale. She had served as the fund’s second executive director since 2012.


Lisa Krannichfield of Little Rock has received the Artist Award for 2024 from the Arkansas Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The award assists an accomplished woman artist to realize her vision and help make her achievements more visible to the art community and the public.
