The opening of the Buttered Biscuit restaurant planned for the Heights neighborhood in Little Rock has been pushed back from this fall to the first quarter of 2025. That’s according to Sam Russell, who owns the chain with his wife, Anna.
Russell added that the chain, based in Bentonville, is also looking at opening two additional central Arkansas Buttered Biscuits next year. “We’re actively looking for real estate, and our intent is to open up two more in 2025,” not including the Heights restaurant.
The Heights building, at 5018 Kavanaugh Blvd., is owned by Merritt Dake. “It’s a 100-year-old building, so there’ve been multiple, just, challenges,” Russell said. He said late last month that they hoped to start construction on the remodeling of the building in the next couple of weeks.
Corco Construction Co. of Conway is the contractor, and Starr Design of Charlotte, North Carolina, is the architect for the project.
The Buttered Biscuit opened its first Little Rock location, at the Promenade at Chenal, in May. The Kavanaugh restaurant will be the chain’s second Little Rock restaurant and its sixth Buttered Biscuit store.
