B&M Painting of Camden, which provides anti-corrosive fabrications and painting for the defense and aerospace industry, has been acquired by California-based Valence Surface Technologies LLC.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
As part of the deal, B&M’s existing management team and workforce will remain with the organization. Tracy Payne and Brian McCasland, B&M’s current principals, and General Manager Matt Hopkins will remain active in the business and help integrate it with the Valence platform.
B&M, founded in 1984, employs more than 100 people and has an annual payroll of $2.3 million, according to its website. It has an 81,000-SF manufacturing facility in Camden. The company’s clients include Camden neighbor Lockheed Martin and Boeing, Dassault Falcon, General Dynamics and Goodrich Aerospace.
“B&M’s proximity to key defense customers in central Arkansas will enhance Valence’s service offering in that region and help drive our ability to offer a complete range of coating solutions to our customers,” Chris Celtruda, CEO of Valence, said in a news release.
Valence is the world’s largest independent provider of aerospace and defense metal finishing services. It’s majority-owned by the investment firms ATL Partners of New York and British Columbia Investment Management Corporation.
“Valence provides the right partner for our B&M team to expand into the future, which was a key consideration in the transaction,” Payne said. “We look forward to starting a new chapter as part of the Valence team and continue our focus on customer satisfaction.”
The acquisition gives Valence 11 locations across the U.S.
