Camden Chamber Gets New Director, Cindy Green

1 min read

Third-generation Camden native Cindy Green is the new executive director of the Camden Area Chamber of Commerce, the chamber’s board of directors announced Wednesday.

Green’s will have three main functions, the board said. She’ll act as a spokesperson for the business and professional community and translate those leaders’ thoughts into action, render services best provided by a community organization to members and the region, and to be a driving force in recruiting business and industries while also helping expand existing enterprises.

According to a news release, Green will also focus on economic, educational, and recreational growth to benefit small family businesses up to high-technology industries in Ouachita and Calhoun Counties.

Green graduated from Camden Fairview High School then earned a BBA with distinction at Southern Arkansas University, where she specialized in marketing.

After a career both at home and overseas, Green returned to Camden during the pandemic and served as a recruiter at Southern Arkansas University Tech in town.

Her first day at the chamber’s offices in the historic Missouri-Pacific Railroad depot in downtown Camden will be Aug. 14.

Chamber President Gregory Nettles said a extensive search led to Green’s selection, and in the release he said the board members “believe we have found the complete person in Cindy to direct the future of the chamber.”
