Camp Aldersgate Names Bobbi McDaniel Director of Development (Movers & Shakers)

Bobbi McDaniel has been selected as director of development at Camp Aldersgate of Little Rock. McDaniel will lead major gifts, large fundraisers and donor relations and oversee development initiatives.


Tori Scott (Excel By Eight)

Tori Scott has joined Excel by Eight of Little Rock as communities manager. Scott will support strategies in Independence County and the city of Little Rock to improve childhood health and education.


Omar Atiq (UAMS)

Dr. Omar Atiq has been named president of the American College of Physicians of Philadelphia, the largest medical specialty organization and second-largest physician group in the nation. Atiq is a professor of medicine and otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Atiq has been an ACP fellow since 1993 and was also president of the Arkansas Medical Society.


Samantha Davis (NurseIO)

Samantha Davis has joined NurseIO of Scottsdale, Arizona, as director of marketing. Davis is based in Greenbrier and was previously marketing manager at WEHCO Media of Little Rock.


Oleksiy Gudz (UAMS)

Dr. Oleksiy Gudz has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock in the College of Medicine’s Department of Surgery as a vascular surgeon and an assistant professor. Gudz practiced in Ukraine for more than five years and will be involved in vascular surgery research at UAMS.


James Hertzog (Hertzog Family Eye Care)

Dr. James Hertzog, owner and optometric physician at Hertzog Family Eye Care in Cabot and Jacksonville, has been elected president of the Arkansas Optometric Association.


Ting Li (NARMC)

Dr. Ting Li has joined North Arkansas Regional Medical Center of Harrison as a pediatrician. Li has been a pediatric hospitalist for the past 12 years.


Eric Wiebelhaus-Brahm has been promoted to professor in the School of Public Affairs at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Shuzhen Deng has been promoted to advanced instructor in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics at the university. Greg Graham has been promoted to advanced instructor in the Department of Rhetoric & Writing. Gregory Guisbiers has been promoted to associate professor with tenure in the Department of Physics & Astronomy. Stefanie Leacok has been promoted to advanced instructor in the Department of Biology, and Heba Sadaka has been promoted to associate professor with tenure in the School of Nursing at UA Little Rock.


Delton Gordon (Arkansas Tech University)

Delton Gordon, associate dean for residence life at Arkansas Tech University of Russellville, has been elected president of the Southwest Association of College & University Housing Officers. Gordon will serve as president-elect during the 2023-24 academic year, president in 2024-25 and past president in 2025-26.


Lloyd Jackson (Henderson State University)

Lloyd Jackson has been named associate vice chancellor of advancement and chief fundraising officer for Henderson State University of Arkadelphia. Jackson, a graduate of the university, will lead operations in annual and planned giving, major gifts, corporate and foundation relations, campaign planning and implementation, and engagement.


The Arkansas Research Alliance has announced seven new members to the ARA Academy of Scholars & Fellows. The following are the new ARA fellows: Antino Allen, associate professor of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences; Heather Nachtmann, a professor of Industrial Engineering at the University of Arkansas; Igor Pogribny, research biologist of the Division of Biochemical Toxicology at the National Center for Toxicological Research; Grace Ramena, associate professor and director of fish health and disease diagnostics at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff; Jianfeng Xu, research professor of the Arkansas Biosciences Institute at Arkansas State University; and Mary Yang, professor of information science at UA Little Rock. John Imig, chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at UAMS, will join the institution as a scholar. Each fellow receives a $75,000 grant and each scholar receives a $500,000 grant toward their research.


Nakisha Miller

Nakisha Miller has been named an associate partner at Wilson & Associates of Little Rock. Miller joined the firm before beginning law school and will practice in the legal fields of title curative, eviction, excess proceeds and mobile home curative.
