Canopy Maker Arning Companies Inc. Announces $5M Facility in Clarksville

2 min read

Canopy and awning manufacturer Arning Companies Inc. of Cassville, Missouri has announced plans for a $5 million facility in Clarksville, Arkansas.

The company has purchased a 168,000-SF facility on 37.8 acres that it plans to renovate and outfit with new machinery and equipment, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission said in a news release. The property, formerly owned by ABB Motors and Mechanical Inc., sold for $2.4 million, according to Cushman & Wakefield | Sage Partners, which negotiated the deal.

Arning expects the project to be completed by the end of February. About 125 new jobs will be created over five years. Hiring is underway for full-time positions.

Arning President & CEO Ryan Stockton said the new facility will give the company much-needed space to further develop its off-site modular construction program. The company is expanding as the result of growth in a smaller product line, according to the release.

Arning’s clients have included Sonic and Tacos 4 Life restaurants, Casey’s General Stores, Walmart and Sam’s Club.

“I believe Arning Companies will be a great business partner in Arkansas, and I’m excited to welcome them to our state,” Gov. Asa Hutchinson said in the release. “They bring a wealth of quality and experience in the metal and fabrication industry as well as the same hometown service-with-a-smile that Arkansans know and appreciate. Their investment in the Clarksville community will go a long way into changing the lives of many in the area.”

Arning is receiving the following state incentives: The Advantage Arkansas income tax credit, which can offset up to 50% of a company’s income tax liability each year, and the Tax Back program, which provides sales and use tax refunds on the purchase of building materials and taxable machinery.
