The lawsuit between two Little Rock doctors that played out in the pages of Arkansas Business has been settled.
Attorneys for Dr. Eren Erdem and Dr. Scott Schlesinger told the Pulaski County Circuit Court last month that the case has been resolved and each side will be responsible for its own attorneys’ fees and court costs.
Erdem’s attorney, Tré Kitchens of Little Rock, declined to comment last week. And Lindsey Pesek of Little Rock, one of the attorneys who represented Schlesinger, didn’t return a call seeking comment.
If you recall, the two former friends tangled over money. Erdem accused Schlesinger in a 2014 lawsuit of cheating him out of untold dollars. In his responses, Schlesinger denied wrongdoing and insisted that Erdem was properly compensated for the services he performed.
The roots of the dispute can be traced to 2008, when Erdem agreed to help Schlesinger with spinal injections and other procedures at his Legacy Neurosurgery Center and Arkansas Neurosurgery Clinic in Little Rock; he did so on a part-time basis for more than four years without benefit of a written contract.
During that time, Erdem charged, Schlesinger “actively deceived” him about the compensation he was owed for medical services that Erdem provided to patients at Schlesinger’s clinics.
Circuit Judge Tim Fox dismissed the case on Feb. 12.
