CBC Qualifies for $750,000 Challenge Grant

1 min read

Central Baptist College of Conway recently exceeded its $8.6 million fundraising goal, qualifying the college for a $750,000 challenge grant from the J.E. & L.E. Mabee Foundation in Tulsa.

To receive the grant, CBC had to raise $8.6 million by July 13. As of last Wednesday, the college had raised $8.621 million.

The grant funds and money raised will go toward funding construction of a new 38,000-SF academic building, as well as paying for renovation and expansion of an administration and library building.

The projects together should cost about $8.6 million. Money raised beyond the cost of the two initial projects will fund construction of a new approximately $3 million residence hall.

The new construction and renovations are the first two of 10 major construction projects Central Baptist College plans to complete within the next 10 years.

“We are thrilled to have met this challenge. This grant, along with the additional funds raised, will allow us to continue to expand the campus for future growth,” said CBC President Terry Kimbrow.
