Jim Nantz, lead play-by-play man for CBS Sports, will be in Little Rock on Nov. 23 to help raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease.
An Evening With Jim Nantz will be hosted by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging at 6:30 p.m. from the grand ballroom of the Little Rock Marriott.
Nantz will share the story of his father’s 13-year battle with the disease and how that fight inspired him to help find a cure. Nantz chronicled his father’s story in the book “Always by My Side” and founded the Nantz National Alzheimer Center at the Texas Medical Center in Houston.
Razorback fans will remember Nantz for his call of the 1994 NCAA men’s basketball national championship game in which the Hogs defeated Duke.
