Centennial Bank Forecloses on Loan for John Rogers Home

Centennial Bank of Conway foreclosed on delinquent loans totaling nearly $3.5 million to alleged fraudster John Rogers and his ex-wife, Angelica.

The debt, linked with their failed Sports Cards Plus Inc. venture, is broken into four loans secured by North Little Rock real estate that includes the former couple’s mansion on Avondale Road in North Little Rock.

The 12,400-SF manor in the Park Hill neighborhood, which overlooks Lake No. 1, is tied to a debt that dates back to a February 2008 construction loan with an outstanding balance of more than $1.9 million.

The Sports Cards complex is linked with $616,442 of debt from a 2008 loan. The property includes a 5,580-SF building at 2501 Poplar St. and the 23,610-SF office-warehouse at 2401 Poplar St.

A 1,718-SF office building at 3115 JFK Blvd. is securing a loan with an outstanding balance of $68,299.

A 2013 loan with an outstanding balance of $910,209 is cross-collateralized with all of the property.

Also securing the debt is a $5 million life insurance policy on Rogers, the subject of a federal criminal investigation.

This week’s foreclosure adds to the Rogers’ business and legal woes.

John Rogers is the dealer in sports memorabilia and historic photos who is the subject of a federal criminal investigation and numerous civil collection suits seeking more than $45 million in debts and another $49 million in punitive damages.

John Rogers was arrested July 22 on a contempt warrant issued by Pulaski County Circuit Judge Tim Fox after he failed to fully respond to discovery requests and file an affidavit of assets after First Arkansas Bank & Trust of Jacksonville won a default judgment that has grown to more than $15 million. He was released two days later after agreeing to cooperate with the bank.

The couple also owes Pulaski County more than $150,000 in taxes — most of which is property tax on the mansion they built on Avondale Road overlooking Lake No. 1 in North Little Rock. The house is now assessed in Angelica Rogers’ name since their divorce last fall.
