Central Arkansas Job Change Compared with US

This chart compares job change by industry for the United States and the Little Rock metropolitan statistical area during the past two years, pre-COVID 19 and post-pandemic.

Although most industries saw losses during the period, U.S. warehousing jobs grew quickly, according to Metroplan’s latest report on economic trends in the region. But central Arkansas experienced a net job loss in the sector, though, the report noted, that may have changed with the addition of two large local Amazon warehouse and fulfillment facilities, along with others recently announced.

In central Arkansas, the financial activities industry grew rapidly during the period, while, unsurprisingly, the leisure and hospitality industry contracted.
