Central Baptist College Announces New EVP & Director of Admissions (Movers & Shakers)

Jeremy Langley has been hired as executive vice president at Central Baptist College of Conway, and Sterling Claypoole has been hired as director of admissions.


Joseph Koon (Benton Family Clinic)

Dr. Joseph Koon has joined Benton Family Clinic, a Baptist Health affiliate. Koon specializes in internal medicine.


Dr. Matt Jones of Blytheville was named the 2024 Optometrist of the Year by the American Optometric Association. Jones has clinics in Blytheville, Osceola, West Memphis and Paragould.


Sam Dalvi (UAMS)

Dr. Sam Dalvi has been hired by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences of Little Rock as a professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and director of the Division of Rheumatology & Immunology. 


Randon Carlton (Baptist Health)

Randon Carlton has been promoted to director of hospital operations at Baptist Health Medical Center-Stuttgart and Baptist Health Medical Center-Heber Springs. 


Dr. Brad Baltz, an oncologist at CHI St. Vincent Cancer Center in Little Rock, is leaving CHI St. Vincent at the end of the month. According to an alert sent to patients, Baltz will begin seeing patients at the Genesis Cancer and Blood Institute, which is headquartered in Hot Springs with clinics spread across central and south Arkansas.


Joaly Velasquez (ABCBS)

Joaly Velasquez has been hired at Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Little Rock as a network development representative, serving its provider network in the central region of the state.


Ashley Murguia Topete (ASBTDC)

Ashley Murguia Topete has been hired as a startup specialist at the Arkansas Small Business & Technology Development Center at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.


Jay Barth has been named board chair of City Year of Little Rock, and Madhav Shroff has been named vice chair. Also joining the board are Emily Jordan Cox, Randy Jones, Raymond Long and Mark Wilson


Andre Guerrero, Roberto Martinez, Fabricio Medina-Bolivar and Lisette Yang have been inducted into the first class of the Arkansas Latino Hall of Fame in North Little Rock.

Victoria DeFrancesco Soto, dean of the Clinton School of Public Service at the University of Arkansas, has been appointed to the board of Forward Arkansas in Little Rock. Joining her on the board is Jared Henderson, a former executive director and senior vice president of Teach for America.
