With its centralized location, Conway is at the heart of Arkansas and offers easy access to a number of transportation hubs and travel opportunities.
This includes air travel.
The city boasts Conway Regional Airport at Cantrell Field, currently involved in a five-year development plan, while Little Rock’s Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport is located approximately 35 miles away and is easily reached via Interstate 30/440. The airport has 85 based aircraft (14 jets and 71 general aviation craft).
Conway Regional Airport opened in 2014 and has undergone continuous expansion. The current five-year, multimillion-dollar capital improvement plan includes building a new hangar apron, taxi lane and more than a dozen hangars.
The construction is funded by money from a $1.4 million Federal Aviation Administration grant bestowed in 2019, along with state and existing funds.
The airport has a 5,500-foot concrete runway and a parallel taxiway. Its 6,300-SF terminal features a flight training classroom, conference room, pilot’s lounge with amenities, vending machines, weather computers and Wi-Fi.

Private jet and charter flights are available. Flight times to nearby major cities are 45 minutes to Dallas, 1 hour to Houston, 1 hour and 3 minutes to Atlanta and 1 hour and 20 minutes to San Antonio.
Conway has developed into a prime location for business development, and Conway Regional Airport houses a number of companies’ corporate jets while the facility sees steady air traffic and has a waiting list for its 54 T-hangars.
Takeoffs and landings in 2022 totaled 15,061, a 40% increase over 2021, and totaled 4,537 in the first quarter of this year, a 39% increase from the first quarter of 2022.
In order to achieve its goal of becoming a national airport, Conway Regional is working toward the requirements of having 11 based jets, at least 5,000 instrument approach procedures filed annually and at least 20 international flights a year.
