Little Rock has appointed Chad Brown, a vice president at the private investment firm Circumference Group of Little Rock, to the Little Rock Technology Park’s board of directors.
Brown holds a seat formerly occupied by Tristan Wilkerson, founder of public affairs firm Think Rubix LLC and a founding member of High Street Equity Ventures.
He’s also the acting CFO of The Venture Center. Previously, he helped launch and spent 10 years working on Circumference Group’s public market fund. Brown also worked at Constant Contact for two years as the director of strategic finance and started his career as a marketing analytics at Alltel.
“The City of Little Rock is committed to supporting the Tech Park, which is fostering innovation and economic growth right in the heart of our resurgent Downtown,” Mayor Frank Scott Jr. said in a statement. “Critical to its success are the types of leadership qualities and vision that Chad Brown and other board members bring to the table. I am excited about appointing Chad to the Tech Park Board as Little Rock continues to make positive strides toward its goal of being a catalyst for the
new South.”
Brown, a Sherwood native, holds a degree in economics from Harvard University and is board chair of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Arkansas.
Tech Park board members are appointed for five-year terms. Each tech park sponsor — UAMS, the University of Arkansas and the city of Little Rock — has two board representatives. A seventh board member is appointed collectively by the sponsors.
“The Little Rock Tech Park is a key contributor to the city and state’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem,” Brown said. “I believe its mission is important, and I am eager to be a part of its ongoing and future success.”
