Chambers Bank Senior VP Dan Broyles to Retire After 24 Years (Movers & Shakers)

Dan Broyles, senior vice president and loan officer at Chambers Bank of Danville, will retire from the organization effective Dec. 31. Broyles began working for Chambers Bank in 2000 as a business development officer and has served in his current position since 2002.

Angela Connell

Angela Connell has been named senior vice president, communications director of First Community Bank of Batesville. Connell, who has been with the bank since 2019, is located at the bank’s headquarters in Batesville.

Tristan Simmons

Tristan Simmons has been hired as a financial adviser at First Community Financial Services of Batesville. Simmons brings nearly six years of experience in wealth management.

Education

Ashley Acheson has been invested in the Wilbur D. Mills Distinguished Chair in Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Prevention at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine in Little Rock. Acheson is a professor and vice chair of research in the UAMS Department of Psychiatry.

Latika Johnson

Latika Johnson has been named director of the multicultural center at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. Johnson holds a doctorate in educational leadership and policy analysis with an emphasis on higher education and a concentration in leadership and administration from the University of Missouri.

Michael Bradley

Michael Bradley has been appointed dean of the College of Research & Graduate Studies at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville. Bradley has a Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma State University, a Master of Science from Western Illinois University and a Doctor of Philosophy from Oklahoma State University.

Government

Jeff Chandler has been hired as deputy attorney general to lead the special prosecutions division in the Office of the Attorney General of Arkansas in Little Rock. Since 2018, Chandler has worked for the capital conflicts and appellate division of the Arkansas Public Defender Commission, where he defended capital murder cases.

Health Care

Dr. Chelsey Deel has been hired as an associate professor of pathology at the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine of Bentonville. Other new hires are Alexis Gillett, as an associate professor of anatomy; Dr. Stephen Nix, as an assistant professor of pathology; and Trager Hintze, as an assistant professor of pharmacology.

Erica Williard-Dunn

Erica Williard-Dunn has been promoted to senior executive director of development in institutional advancement at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

Kirby N. Von Edwins

Dr. Kirby N. Von Edwins has been hired at Baptist Health Heart Institute/Arkansas Cardiology Clinic-Little Rock.

 

Tamela Douglas

Tamela Douglas has been named executive director of Pinnacle Place of Little Rock. In this role, Douglas will oversee all care, operations and programming.

Tony Doyle has been promoted to general manager for the group employer business in the Midsouth region at Cigna Healthcare of Bloomfield, Connecticut. The Midsouth region comprises Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee, and Doyle will be responsible for driving market growth for client employers with fewer than 3,000 employees. He will be based in Cigna Healthcare’s office in Franklin, Tennessee.

Insurance

Karen Petersen, president of Hendrix College, has been named to the board of directors of Educational & Institutional Insurance Administrators Inc. of Chicago.

Legal

Randall Wakefield has been hired at the Fayetteville office of Hall Estill of Tulsa. Wakefield focuses his practice on family law, civil litigation and criminal defense.
