The largest bank in America officially entered the Arkansas market a few weeks ago when JPMorgan Chase Bank of Columbus, Ohio, opened its west Little Rock branch at 12900 Chenal Parkway.
The $3.6 trillion-asset lender’s Arkansas move is part of a dual-state effort overseen by Lee Mahan, executive director of market expansion in Arkansas and Mississippi.
The 16-year JPMorgan Chase veteran came to Little Rock via Tulsa, where he was executive director of Oklahoma banking operations. Mahan set up residence in Little Rock while shuttling back and forth to Jackson.
For now, the focus is on establishing JPMorgan Chase in the capital city markets of both states. About 45 staffers will be deployed to operate the three Little Rock branches and one North Little Rock office that JPMorgan Chase is developing.
The bank is in the early stages of working on a branch at the northeast corner of Chenal Parkway and Kirk Road.
