Chris Roberts to Head Market Operations for Southern Bank (Movers & Shakers)

Chris Roberts has been promoted to market president for Southern Bank in Searcy. In his new position, Roberts will oversee the commercial lending and branch operations for Southern Bank, based in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, for central Arkansas. This includes Searcy, Bald Knob, Batesville and Bradford, and Roberts will also handle the bank’s business development in Little Rock.

Roberts graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a degree in finance and attended graduate school at Louisiana State University. With 29 years of banking experience, Roberts was previously a community bank president for Southern Bank’s Searcy location, and has five years of experience as a senior commissioned bank examiner.


Devae Lucas has been hired as a client associate for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in Little Rock and Don McDonald of Hackett has been named to the Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisors inaugural list.

Lucas previously worked for Arkansas Baptist College and will primarily be responsible for client service and account administration.

McDonald serves Merrill Lynch Wealth Management as a financial adviser and has been a part of the company for 29 years.


Brooke Million has been named as a credit analyst for Stone Bank in Little Rock. A graduate of the University of Arkansas, Pulaski Technical College, Million is a CPA candidate and previously worked for Dassault Falcon Jet.
