Clarity Pointe, a community for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients, recently opened a facility in west Little Rock, its second location in Arkansas. Clarity Pointe in Fayetteville opened earlier this year.
The company’s Little Rock location celebrated its grand opening June 10.
“This is a wonderful time for Clarity Pointe Little Rock,” said Debbee Tyler, executive director at Clarity Pointe Little Rock. “Interest from medical professionals, the business community and prospective residents and families has been tremendous. The unanimous response has been one of great appreciation for our singular focus on Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.”
Thomas Schaffler, CEO of Clarity Pointe, founded the company after perceiving a lack of care for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients.
Clarity Pointe’s first location opened in 2013 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
A trained staff, ready to help 24 hours a day, is available for transportation, housekeeping and health needs. Patients at Clarity Pointe are given daily activities to address physical, social and spiritual needs.
The facility has three dining and living areas as well as an enclosed interior courtyard.
“We want to create a community that encourages the residents to participate and engage,” said Amy Thomas, account executive at Clarity Pointe Little Rock. “Our focus is on what remains and not what has been lost.”
Clarity Pointe Little Rock, licensed for 59 patients, has 15 employees with plans to have 50 as the location grows to house additional residents.
“Our memory care is very different than what has been the standard previously,” Thomas said. “We are moving toward a place where residents can keep enriching and engaging lifestyles.”
